Nando’s is not a Halal brand and does not pay fees for certification. Whilst all of our bastings are Halal, and many of our suppliers carry Halal certification, our chicken supplier in QLD, and our ribs supplier in WA, SA, ACT, NSW, and QLD, are not Halal Certified.
Our restaurant kitchens use two distinct cooking surfaces where cross-contact may occur: an Open Flame Grill (non-Halal-Certified ribs and chicken) and a Flat Top Grill (bacon).
Other products cooked on the flat top grill are:
- Chicken breasts for our burgers, wraps, pitas, and paella.
- Chicken tenders for our burgers, wraps, pitas, and salads.
- Our halloumi, veggie patty, and great pretender protein.
- Vegetables for our paella.
- Our garlic bread and cheesy garlic mini pitas.
The other products cooked on the open flame grill are:
- Chicken on the bone products.
- Grilled tenders.
- Corn.
