Nando’s is not a Halal brand and does not pay fees for certification.
However, our bastings are Halal and some of our chicken suppliers carry Halal certification. Our chicken supplier in Queensland and our ribs supplier in WA, SA, ACT, NSW & QLD are not Halal Certified though. See below for cooking methods and where cross-contact may occur.
Our restaurant kitchens use two distinct cooking surfaces:
- open flame-grill, commonly seen at the front of the restaurant
- flat top grill, usually in the back of the kitchen area
We cook bacon on the flat top grill. The other products cooked on the flat top grill are:
- Chicken breasts for burger, wraps, pitas & paella
- Chicken tenders for burger, wraps, pitas and salads
- Veggie Patty
- Great Pretender Protein
- Halloumi
- Paella vegetables
- Garlic Bread
- Cheesy Garlic Mini Pitas

We cook ribs on the open flame-grill. The other products cooked on the open flame-grill are:
- Chicken on the bone products (quarter, half & full chickens)
- Grilled tenders
- Corn
